Patient Care Technicians play a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is at Union Health.
The 4EA team operates a 32 medical-bed surgical unit, specializing in caring for patients who are admitted for a variety of acute and chronic medical illnesses. This unit specializes in renal patients and is also a step-down ventilator unit that collaborates with respiratory to provide patients with continued care that they need before they can discharge.

Patient Care Technician Details

Essential Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with RN staff to assess patients' needs and report concerns.
  • Assist in developing and modifying care plans, prioritize patient problems, and perform medical tasks.
  • Provide patient education, follow policies, respond to emergencies, and act as a patient advocate while respecting rights and confidentiality.
  • Evaluate interventions, maintain professionalism, and seek assistance when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Basic medical knowledge and patient care procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a healthcare team.


License/Certification:

Candidate must have one of the following:

•     Valid Indiana CNA license, or

•     Agree to complete the Union Health PCT Training program upon hire.

•     Must be certified in healthcare provider BLS upon hire.
