Job description

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to design custom equipment and tooling, develop manufacturing drawings, support production, and contribute to new and existing product development.
This position provides structured learning, mentorship, and real-world experience in a machine-building or engineered-to-order environment.
What will you be doing?
Engineering & Design Support
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and communicate effectively
  • Creates and maintains 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks
  • Works from prints, samples or instructions to create fully detailed drawings
  • Designs special die-cut tooling following the directions and suggestions of senior Engineers
  • Update and revise drawings based on production feedback
  • Applies drafting standards and basic GD&T under guidance
  • Assists senior Engineers in the design and layout of custom machines and mechanical assemblies
  • Directs and coordinates the manufacturing or building of prototypes or production parts to meet scheduled completion dates
Machine Build & Hands-On Support
  • Provide on-site shop support during machine assembly and build phases
  • Assist with fit-up, alignment, and basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems
  • Observe and participate in machine testing, debugging, and validation
  • Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and commissioning activities
  • Gain exposure to integration with electrical, pneumatic, and control systems
Cross-Functional & Project Support
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, controls, and project teams
  • Assist with engineering documentation such as BOMs, manuals, and build instructions
  • Support engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and drawing updates
  • Learn company standards, safety practices, and quality requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement and lessons-learned activities
Cross-Functional & Project Support
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, assembly, controls, and project teams
  • Assist with engineering documentation such as BOMs, manuals, and build instructions

Who are You?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Strong CAD Skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD)
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and mechanical components
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work in a hands-on environment
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and international travel 30%
