As a CBRE Sr. Engineering Operations Manager - Mechanical, you'll lead a skilled team delivering technical and operational support that keeps our client's facilities running seamlessly. Part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, this role oversees preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical mechanical building systems-including HVAC and plumbing. Your leadership ensures reliability, safety, and efficiency across the portfolio while mentoring teams and bridging the gap between field execution and strategic operations.

What You'll Do:
Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Lead all aspects of the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
Perform Asset management and Capital Planning.
Advise and Mentor Technicians and Engineers on all aspects of mechanical systems(HVAC, Plumbing)
Coordinate and lead the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
Collaborate with other departments and key collaborators to ensure that business needs are being met.
Review data and make recommendations for improvements to processes, procedures, and systems.
Stay up to date with industry trends and standard processes and apply knowledge to drive innovation and growth.
Handle budgets and resources optimally, ensuring that all expenditures are supported and aligned with company goals.
Ensure the team follows compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own field, and how own field integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity.
Understand and recognize the broader impact across the department.
Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within the job field.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job field, multiple job fields, and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive attitude.
