Job Description

Title: Sr. Mechanical Integration Engineer - Military

Position Summary:

This position performs engineering work related to researching, designing, and the application of engines and engine systems used in military/defense applications. This position must have strong engine knowledge and experience. This position designs components and subsystems for high output diesel and gas engines used in military applications.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and evaluate engineering designs (including subsystems) following industry and corporate standards
  • Creation of detailed 3D CAD models according to design standards or specifications
  • Develop detailed design drawings with appropriate application of standards, norms, and GD&T specifications
  • Designs must maintain high level of accuracy
  • Proficient use of PLM software (windchill)
  • Create and execute Design Validation Plan (DVP) according to company standards
  • Lead overall communication, coordination and consultation with production, quality, vendors, and customers
  • Develop complex assembly drawings for new product BOM creation
  • Manage design change requests from initiation to implementation
  • Implement improvement measures for manufacturing based on supplier, production, or customer feedback
  • Determine validation/inspection plan for new or revised components
  • Conduct inspection and/or validation of first article components using precision tools, or coordination of 3rd party involvement
  • Create post-inspection report for part evaluation
  • Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
  • Performs special projects as required

Basic Requirements:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
  • U.S. Citizenship required as this position could be working under a government contract
  • Bachelor's Degree in Automotive, Mechanical (or equivalent) plus 5 years of design experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with classified information, preferably defense type engineering work
  • Strong knowledge of drafting principles, practices, methods and techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering processes and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of GD&T, can interpret effect on component design
  • Experience with PLM software such as Windchill
  • Excellent analytical ability where problems may be unusual or difficult
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
