Job description

The Plating Technician is responsible for applying zinc coatings to industrial parts using electro or mechanical zinc plating processes. This role involves operating manual plating equipment, adhering to established procedures, and ensuring quality standards are met. The technician works independently under the supervision of a Production Supervisor and must have basic math skills, the ability to operate timers, and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Training is provided to support skill development in plating techniques and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual plating equipment to apply zinc coatings
  • Follow proven zinc plating processes accurately
  • Perform quality inspections on plated parts
  • Use basic math to monitor and control plating processes
  • Operate timers and other process controls
  • Participate in training to enhance plating skills
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in plating or manufacturing processes
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in operating plating and industrial equipment
  • Basic math and timer operation skills
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail in quality control
  • Experience in material handling
