Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineering Manager here at Honeywell, you will lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers to successfully execute complex engineering projects. The role owns technical delivery, resource planning, quality, cost, schedule adherence, and talent development, while ensuring engineering outputs meet customer, business, and compliance expectations. The position reports to a Director level engineering leader and plays a critical role in achieving revenue, margin, and operational targets.
You will report directly to our Sr Director of Engineering and you'll work out of our Mason, OH location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and efficiency. By implementing best practices and leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies, you will contribute to the overall productivity and effectiveness of the mechanical design function. Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineering Execution & Technical Leadership
  • Own end to end mechanical engineering execution for assigned projects, from design handoff through commissioning and customer turnover.
  • Define and manage mechanical design processes including design reviews, ordering reviews, installation support, and go live support.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are complete, accurate, and aligned with scope, schedule, and budget commitments.
  • Drive technical rigor, value engineering, and standardization across projects.

Project & Business Performance
  • Deliver projects to meet customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Drive productivity and performance metrics such as on time delivery, design quality, forecast accuracy, and cost control.
  • Execute tiered accountability and operating cadence reviews to proactively manage risks, issues, and escalations.
  • Support achievement of business objectives including revenue, margin, and cash flow targets.

People Leadership & Talent Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Mechanical Engineering Supervisors and Engineers.
  • Define required mechanical engineering skillsets, identify capability gaps, and implement hiring, training, and development plans.
  • Conduct performance assessments and define individual goals aligned to business and project needs.
  • Build succession plans and ensure long term team sustainability.

Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with project management, electrical, controls, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure integrated execution.
  • Act as a key interface with internal stakeholders and customers to manage expectations and resolve technical or execution issues.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, processes, and safety requirements.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 6 years of experience in Material Handling mechanical engineering and project execution roles.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience managing engineers or supervisors.
  • Strong understanding of Material Handling mechanical design, manufacturing, and system integration.
