Hanson is seeking candidates for our Mechanical Engineering Internship Program for Summer 2027 in our Houston, Texas office.

Our Mechanical Engineering team specializes in the design and evaluation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for both new construction and renovation projects across a variety of markets. Our engineers and designers work collaboratively to develop innovative, sustainable, and efficient building systems that support our clients' operational goals.


General Assignments

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers and designers on real-world projects. Interns perform routine engineering assignments using established procedures while receiving guidance and mentorship from licensed Professional Engineers.


Interns typically:

  • Support engineering staff in the execution of project deliverables
  • Assist with engineering analyses, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Participate in project meetings and coordination activities
  • Observe and contribute to the design process from concept through construction
  • Gain exposure to client service, project management, and field activities
  • Build professional relationships through networking opportunities, intern events, and collaboration across Hanson teams

Limited travel to project sites, client locations, or other Hanson offices may be required.

Qualifications

Candidates must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.

Preferred candidates will have completed at least their sophomore year prior to the start of the internship.
