Position Summary
Luxury Engineering - A new business unit within Bose corporation is looking for a McIntosh Mechanical Engineer to help design and deliver premium audio products that reflect McIntosh's legacy of craftsmanship, performance, and iconic industrial design. In this role, you will contribute to the mechanical design, development, and production support of high-end consumer electronics, working closely with cross-functional partners to bring world-class products to market.
This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges, collaborating across disciplines, and working in an environment where design excellence and product performance are equally valued.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for premium audio products from concept through production
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation to support product development
  • Collaborate with industrial design, electrical engineering, acoustics, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure design intent, quality, DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) to enable smooth transition from prototype to production.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities, including troubleshooting and design iteration
  • Conduct tolerance analysis, material selection, and thermal/mechanical performance evaluations
  • Partner with manufacturing and suppliers to support builds, monitor and resolve manufacturing issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or yield problems, and implement design improvements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and best practices
  • Interface with suppliers for tooling, components, and process support as needed

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 3-7 years of mechanical design experience in consumer electronics or a related industry, preferably in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly environments
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent) and 2D CAD tools (e.g., Cadra or equivalent)
  • Experience releasing parts to production and supporting manufacturing builds
  • Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, process control, mechanical fundamentals, and failure analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience working with global contract manufacturers and suppliers
  • Excellent communication and teamwork across production, design, and quality teams
  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude with a passion for precision assembly
  • Attention to detail and craftsmanship aligned with McIntosh's premium brand standards
  • Self-motivated and organized, capable of driving projects independently
  • Experience with premium or luxury consumer products
