Role Summary
Shape the Future of Advanced Manufacturing
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Automation Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, programming, and integration of cutting-edge automated manufacturing systems that drive operational excellence and production efficiency.
This is an opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, taking ownership of projects from concept through production launch, and making a measurable impact on manufacturing performance. You will play a key role in advancing automation capabilities across the organization while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop advanced automation systems, including controls architecture, I/O configuration, and industrial network layouts
  • Program, modify, and optimize PLC systems (Keyence experience preferred)
  • Create mechanical automation designs and assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Integrate sensors, HMIs, VFDs, motion controls, and safety systems into automated equipment
  • Configure and support industrial Ethernet networks and IP-based communication systems
  • Lead system commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and production startup activities
  • Support manufacturing operations through root cause analysis and rapid resolution of automation-related downtime
  • Maintain automation documentation, PLC backups, and programming standards
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Automation Technicians and production support teams

Requirements
  • 5+ years of automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong expertise in PLC programming, controls engineering, and automation system design
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and mechanical system development
  • Working knowledge of SCADA systems and industrial automation platforms
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to independently manage automation projects from concept through implementation
  • Experience working in a high-volume or precision manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related technical field preferred
  • Significant hands-on PLC programming experience, ideally with Keyence platforms
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of working with minimal supervision
