Small Engine & Fleet Mechanic
Job Type: Full-Time
Industry: Landscaping & Nursery
We are a growing landscaping and nursery company looking for a skilled and dependable Small Engine & Fleet Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service our landscaping equipment and company trucks.
The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience, takes pride in their work, and can diagnose and repair equipment efficiently to keep our crews operating safely and productively.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines and landscaping equipment
  • Service and repair lawn mowers, blowers, trimmers, chainsaws, edgers, and other landscaping equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacement, tune-ups, belt replacement, blade sharpening, and general servicing
  • Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, ignition, hydraulic, and mechanical problems
  • Maintain and repair company pickup trucks, trailers, and other work vehicles
  • Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance
  • Identify equipment that needs major repair or replacement
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Order or identify parts needed for repairs
  • Work closely with landscaping and nursery crews to prioritize equipment repairs
  • Ensure equipment is safe and ready for daily use
Qualifications
  • Previous experience repairing small engines, landscaping equipment, automotive equipment, or similar machinery
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with both 2-cycle and 4-cycle engines preferred
  • Basic automotive/truck repair experience preferred
  • Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently
