About the role
The Junior Plumbing & Wet-Side Mechanical Estimator will support the estimating team by reviewing construction documents, completing detailed digital takeoffs, and developing accurate material, labor, and equipment estimates for plumbing and wet-side mechanical projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career estimator to build technical expertise while working alongside experienced estimators who provide hands-on training, mentorship, and support.
What you'll do
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for plumbing and wet-side mechanical systems.
  • Develop material, equipment, and labor estimates.
  • Assist in preparing complete project estimates, bids, and proposals.
  • Identify project scope, requirements, exclusions, and potential discrepancies within plans and specifications.
  • Work closely with experienced estimators who will provide guidance, training, and mentorship as you develop your estimating skills and grow your career.
  • Organize takeoffs and estimating information clearly and accurately.
  • Help ensure estimates are completed accurately and within bid deadlines.
  • Collaborate with estimators and other team members throughout the estimating process.
  • Maintain organized project files and estimating documentation.
  • Review completed estimates and project feedback to continually improve estimating accuracy.
  • Take on increasingly complex estimating responsibilities as your experience and knowledge grow.

Qualifications & Experience
  • 1-2 years of plumbing and wet-side mechanical construction estimating experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience performing digital plan takeoffs.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing and/or wet-side mechanical construction systems.
  • Experience with Trimble AutoBid or other estimating/takeoff software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet bid deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn, take ownership, and grow within the company.
