Position Overview:

The Mechanical Foreman oversees the daily mechanical construction activities at the work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials and progress of the project. The Foreman needs to be familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures in specified discipline. Must be able to read prints and do take offs for piping, steel and civil jobs. Ability to schedule out manpower as well as deal with emergency work with little to no notice. Lead the team in installation, assembly, dismantlement, maintenance, troubleshoot, and repairs. Strong knowledge of conveyors and pumps a must. Candidate must be able to set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment in a safe manner. Service and fix a variety of machines within the industrial setting to keep plant in continuous production.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supervise daily Pipe fitting, welding, and light mechanical/rigging activities
  • Assess workforce, material, tool, and construction equipment needs and arranges for these components to support the needs of the project
  • Able to analyze productivity trends and adjust work activities to optimize production
  • Review cost reports and projections and act to effectively manage job costs to levels within the contract budget
  • Develop solutions for routine problems using defined processes and own experience and able to develop and implement work.
  • Enforce jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and the Company's Safety Program
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Possess the knowledge and experience to layout and fit pipe
  • Knowledge of welding various metals using SMAW, GTAW processes
  • Lay out projects and execute in effective manner
  • Inspect angles, gap allowances using precision measuring instruments
  • Ability to perform work at above ground elevations while wearing a harness and other protective equipment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for 8+ hours a day
  • Additional Duties as assigned
