Other duties may be assigned.Performs work orders assigned by planners /manager including but not limited to: repairs and services air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical systems, brake replacements on step vans and automobiles, exhaust replacement, radiators, and rear springs.Performs preventative maintenance work on water pumps, transmissions, ABS systems.Performs tune ups on standard transmission automobiles.Provides training and quality assurance supervision of level 1 mechanics.Ensures adherence to general standards as well as Martin’s specific standards of operations.Performs tasks of level 1 mechanic as needed .After repairs, examines and test drives vehicles to ensure that the repair was made successfully and that the vehicle is working properly .Examines and adjusts protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.Raises trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.Uses handtools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power too ls such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.Ensures all parts are examined, including belts, hose, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.Keeps up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to the job.
