Job description

Description

Provides technical support for assigned process, project or product lines.


Review project specifications to determine which equipment needs ordered and which to retool

Create and regularly update equipment installation, modification and trial schedules

Lead new equipment buyoff activities

Lead new equipment installation, trials and start up

Determine and plan equipment layouts based on process needs, available space and utilities

Create and maintain pin maps, spare parts lists, and other supporting documentation for use by other departments

Study and improve current production processes and equipment for cycle time and quality issues

Redesign tooling for countermeasures and kaizens

Help create capital budget

Maintain and update equipment drawings as needed

Oversee a variety of automated equipment designs and processes, such as projection, MIG, laser & spot welding

Lead cycle time calculation and analysis and determine reduction plans

Investigate and resolve machinery, quality and efficiency issues

Travel to vendor locations to review equipment progress, local and in Japan (10~15%)

Follow standard work instructions, including all safety policies and procedures

Comply with ISO 14001 standards

Perform 5S activities

Other duties as assigned by department manager


Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering or equivalent work experience

Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics

Knowledge of a 3D CAD system

Excellent skills with M.S. Office

Good communication skills

Experience with Pro-E or Creo CAD software

Knowledge of PLC programming and robot teaching

Experience with various manufacturing and welding processes

Maintenance or fabrication experience
