Mechanic Apprentice Jobs in Waterloo, ON (NOW HIRING)

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Millwright Apprentices/Maintenance Technicians to join our team in an industrial environment. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial equipment and machinery, as well as installing and troubleshooting a variety of systems.

• Maintain and repair industrial equipment and machinery.
• Modify, repair, install, maintain, and troubleshoot packaging and other manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and solve issues involving mechanics, plumbing, basic welding, and metal work.
• Install equipment, lines, and systems.
• Decommission equipment and machinery.
• Provide commissioning and start-up support.
• Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance.
• Manage shutdowns and breakdowns.
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Perform facility upgrades and modifications.
• Provide maintenance shift coverage.

• Registered Millwright Apprentice and/or Maintenance Technician with 3-5 years of experience in a heavy industrial environment.
• Experience with rigging & hoisting, performing preventative maintenance, and repair.
• Proficiency in working with bearings, belts, pumps, and conveyors.
• Ownership of personal tools.
• Mechanical assembly and blueprint reading skills.

• Must have WAH, LOTO, WHMIS, and 4 STEPS certifications.
• Experience working with large bearings (50mm+ in diameter).
• Proficiency in overhead crane operation.
• Experience in conveyor maintenance, including tracking belts, changing rollers, and installing mechanical splices.
• Ability to repair fans, airlocks, gearboxes, pneumatic cylinders, and pumps.

Work in a heavy industrial environment that is hot, dusty, and loud. Be prepared to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. The shift schedule is on a rotating continental basis from 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am. Week A consists of Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a 60-hour work week, while Week B includes Wednesday and Thursday for a 24-hour work week. You will receive straight time pay for all scheduled shifts and additional compensation if called into an unscheduled shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milton, ON.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Milton,ON.
