Job description

About the role:

CNG Service Technician Apprentice, Part-time contract position for 8-10 hours per week.

You may work on-call.

You will report to the service manager.

You will travel to different locations in Southern California.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Routine Preventative Maintenance on CNG compressors and fueling Stations
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and repair of high-pressure breathing air, CNG, and other gas systems using both mechanical and electrical procedures
  • Provide mechanical and electrical technical troubleshooting assistance directly with customers to diagnose problems with products and accessories
  • Read and use mechanical and electrical schematics (where applicable) to complete repairs and help troubleshoot and diagnose problems
  • Obtain and provide parts breakdowns to complete repairs
  • Keep records of work hours, parts used, and work performed for each service call and enter all appropriate information in applicable software for reporting and invoicing
  • Inspect warranty parts and determine operational fit-for-duty
  • Complete technical product reports on product problems encountered
  • Handle other requests from management.
  • Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent requir
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with a safe driving record
  • You will pass a background and drug screening.

Experience:

  • 6 months work experience in technical, mechanical or electrical equipment or training

Skills/Abilities:

  • Mechanical aptitude toward electronics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
  • Wiring/tubing/structural drawings and specifications
  • Responsive in nature with the ability to follow-up and bringing open items to closure
  • Disciplined, organized, write, speak and type, work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:

  • Communicate; stand; walk; use hands to handle; and reach with hands and arms
  • Sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Frequent movement in and out of vehicles and near heavy machinery
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds
