Schedule: Night Shift |Varies between 8:30 pm- 2:30 am |Up to 29 hours a week

Position Overview

Challenge Enterprises of North Florida is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated individual to join our team as a Meat Room Janitor.

As a Meat Room Janitor, this position is responsible for performing janitorial and sanitation duties in the meat room and related areas under the direction of the Project Manager.

This role includes cleaning and sanitizing wrapping areas, equipment, floors, walls, fixtures, drains, grease traps, and meat processing areas. The position is ideal for someone who is reliable, safety-focused, able to follow instructions, and willing to learn proper cleaning techniques.

What You’ll Do

Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Clean and sanitize fixtures, equipment, exposed surfaces, floors, walls, ceilings, and light fixture exteriors
  • Clean and sanitize glass, mirrored surfaces, doors, sinks, tables, and related work areas
  • Clean and sanitize underneath non-movable structures, drains, grease traps, and floor mats
  • Clean and sanitize meat rails, meat traps, pans, racks, knives, meat saws, and grinders
  • Ensure the meat room is free of meat particles, grease, and other residue by sight and touch

Waste Removal & Area Support

  • Remove trash and cardboard from the meat processing area
  • Empty trim barrels and clean and sanitize the area where trim barrels are kept
  • Move items as needed to clean floors and return items to their original location after cleaning
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Safety & Team Responsibilities

  • Follow oral and written instructions related to cleaning procedures and safety expectations
  • Work effectively with a team while also working independently as needed
  • Use cleaning products properly and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS), or demonstrate willingness to learn
  • Maintain good communication, interpersonal skills, and client/customer service
