Job Summary

The Meat Manager ensures the storeโ€™s meat department operates at the standards set by the company, driving sales and maximizing profitability. The Meat Manager delivers the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by following the companyโ€™s meat merchandising plan and trimming /preparing standard cuts of meat. The Meat Manager is responsible for training associates, ordering product, monthly inventory, maximizing gross profits, and upholding cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities
  • Uses knives and power equipment, cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to the policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and places meat cuts and products in the display counter according to the procedures so they will appear attractive and appealing to the customers.
  • Orders product based on customerโ€™s wants and needs. Review bills for proper billing.
  • Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery, to maintain cold chain and ensures meat quality.
  • Ensures excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily which adhere to the policy.
  • Responsible for accurate monthly inventory count and maximizing gross profit.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools and power equipment, including but not limited to knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw preferred.
  • Experience with ordering, rotation, training, monthly inventory preferred.
  • Ability to regularly lift 50lbs.
