Job description

Job Title:  Senior MDM Functional Consultant 
Job Location: Johnston, RI 
Job Type: Contract 

Job Description:  

  • Engage directly with business teams to understand data challenges and functional use cases. 

  • Define and document the MDM strategy, roadmap, and governance framework. 

  • Lead functional design workshops and translate business requirements into MDM solutions. 

  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment between functional and technical design. 

  • Analyze existing data sources and recommend data standardization and cleansing strategies. 

  • Support Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative delivery of MDM capabilities. 

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle. 

Required Skills Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science data science information systems or related field 

  • 3 years of experience in MDM and data analytics roles 

  • Proficiency in SQL Python and data visualization tools 

  • Experience with MDM platforms eg Informatica MDM SAP MDG Oracle MDM 

  • Strong understanding of data governance data quality and metadata management 

  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills 

  • Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with cloud platforms Azure AWS GCP 

  • Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes 

  • Certification in MDM or data analytics tools is a plus 

Must-Have Skills: 

  • MDM Expertise: 12+ years of experience in multi-domain Master Data Management. 

  • Banking Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial banking data and workflows. 

  • Functional Design: Skilled in creating functional specs, data models, and process documentation. 

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and facilitation with business sponsors and SMEs. 

  • Agile Mindset: Proven ability to deliver in Agile/sprint-based environments. 

  • MDM Tools Knowledge: Hands-on with platforms like Informatica MDM, Stibo, SAP MDG, or Oracle MDM. 

Nice-to-Have Skills: 

  • Data Governance: Experience building governance and stewardship frameworks. 

  • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP MDM deployments. 

  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of regulations such as BCBS 239 and GDPR. 

  • Data Quality Tools: Experience with data profiling and cleansing solutions.
