What You Will Do:

Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Customer Support & Services (MCSS) is seeking a highly motivated Customer Support Engineer (CSE) for the F135 engine program, responsible for Source Data in support of F135 Joint Technical Data (JTD) engine manual creation and updates.  The CSE will work closely with the engineering teams on Limits Development & Expansion activities and configuration updates (engineering changes) in support of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance for the F135 engine, for both Unit and Depot Maintenance levels. The CSE will also support incorporation of process improvement driven updates, based on customer feedback and sustainment knowledge, to continually improve the JTD.

  • Answer technical data inquiries and provide timely technical data updates to support maintenance and operations on the F135 engine.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by influencing the JTD through process improvements and incorporation of engineering requirements.
  • Review of limits development documents from a sustainment perspective, providing feedback and customer support engineering approval  
  • Influence effective solutions for implementation plans for new configurations.
  • Review Joint Technical Data change requests, evaluating the request based on technical expertise and sustainment process knowledge
  • Perform Source Data authoring functions including creation of source data, quality reviews, workflow resolutions, task assignments, and resolution of customer comments
  • Support depot and unit level scheduled and unscheduled maintenance strategies and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering groups, customers, vendors, and CSEs located at Depot & Unit sites to resolve technical issues and ensure optimal instruction for JTD.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years related experience or 3+ years related experience with an advanced degree
  • 10% Travel

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • F135 engine build, manufacturing or design experience
  • 2+ years of experience of military engine knowledge and experience 
  • Knowledge or expertise in limits development and/or configuration management and engineering changes
  • Experience using technical data, drawings and requirements
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
