Operations/Carrier Sales Representative- After Hours

Larkin Express is seeking a motivated and dependable After-Hours Operations / Carrier Sales Representative to join our team. This individual serves as a key point of contact for carriers and customers during after-hours operations, ensuring freight is picked up and delivered on time while providing exceptional service. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds lasting carrier relationships, and is committed to delivering reliable transportation solutions. 


Responsibilities: 

  •  Source and contact carriers to secure capacity for customer shipments.
  • Negotiate competitive freight rates while maintaining strong carrier relationships.
  • Build, maintain, and manage an active carrier network and database.
  • Monitor in-transit shipments and proactively resolve any issues that arise during transit.
  • Coordinate with customers and carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Secure contract and dedicated freight opportunities with carriers.
  • Track shipments from pickup through final delivery, providing updates as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, and internal team members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Follow established operating procedures while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service.
  • Remote: Monday- Friday 4:00pm-12:00am
Requirements:
  • Experience in logistics operations, carrier sales, or freight brokerage required.
  • Experience with McLeod Software preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
