With a customer-first mindset, we make doing business with McCain easy. About the role.What you’ll be doing.The Functional Area Specialist – Compressed Air & Electrical Distribution is responsible for the care, maintenance, and continued operability of the production support (Ammonia Refrigeration, Water Utilities, HVAC, and support utilities) equipment in accordance with quality specifications, federal guidelines and company policies. As the primary point of contact for the ammonia refrigeration system, this person performs in-depth preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to the ammonia refrigeration system and is responsible for training and support of the other FAS Utility Technicians.  Your day-to-day may consist of:Perform preventive and daily maintenance checks on plant utility equipment, ensuring adherence to safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices.Serve as a technical lead, overseeing the work of Specialist and Technician mechanics, and providing necessary training.Maintain accountability for all assigned equipment and tools, coordinating repair parts purchase with Utilities Supervisor approval.Communicate maintenance issues effectively with the Utilities team and management, and be available off shift for emergency repairs.Achieve required HVAC certifications promptly, and safely operate ladders, forklifts, pallet jacks, man lifts, and similar equipment. This position will work Day Shift (6:30AM-2:30PM) Monday-Friday. This role works in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to loud noises, strong odors, temperature fluctuations, moving machinery, wet or humid conditions, hazardous chemicals, high or confined areas, extreme temperatures, and vibration throughout various facility areas. This role also regularly engages in prolonged standing, walking, communicating, and sensory tasks throughout each shift, while frequently handling objects, climbing, balancing, and performing various physical movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as part of job duties. The use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus is required. What you’ll need to be successful.High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
