Job description

Position Title: Sr. Supervisor FSQ

About the role.
The Sr. Supervisor (Hygienist) provides leadership and direction for factory GMP, sanitation, pest control, and hygienic design programs. This role ensures the consistent application of the Quality Management System within the facility and serves as the guardian of hygiene and sanitation compliance. The position requires strong expertise in sanitation principles, methods, and technologies to maintain a safe and compliant manufacturing environment.
What you'll be doing.
  • Ensure factory sanitation programs are implemented, validated, and sustained to maintain a sanitary production environment
  • Partner with the sanitation team to establish and maintain validated SSOPs, including cross-contact and allergen management controls
  • Lead hygienic design and zoning reviews for existing and new processes, including facility and capital project inputs
  • Serve as leader of the factory HACCP and Food Safety teams, identifying hazards and ensuring appropriate control measures
  • Support PRP verification activities and connect outcomes back to the Food Safety team
  • Lead root cause analysis for hygiene-related incidents (biological, physical, or chemical)
  • Conduct Food Safety Risk Assessments to ensure compliance in plant operations
  • Oversee certification programs and ensure adherence to regulatory and audit standards
  • Collaborate with Quality and Food Safety leadership on product innovation and ingredient changes
  • Manage internal audit programs and lead audit readiness for AIB and BRC while driving continuous improvement initiatives

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science/Technology, Food Sanitation, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in food plant sanitation with supervisory responsibilities preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Food Safety, sanitation practices, FSMA HACCP, 5S, GMP, and SSOP development
  • Professional GMP or sanitation training (e.g., AIB, ASI) preferred
  • Pest control training or certification (e.g., State Pesticide Certification, Purdue Correspondence Course) preferred

Reporting to the Food Safety and Quality Manager, the Sr. Food Safety and Quality Supervisor leads one direct report and provides support and guidance to plant technicians across shifts. The role operates cross-functionally, collaborating closely with Quality, Food Safety, and Operations teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Compensation Package : $81,600.00 - $108,900.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
