Job description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager of Operational Excellence will manage all day to day activities related to Lean within the health system.  The manager will align all activities with the overall strategy and goals within the area of Operational Excellence to ensure outcomes are measured and sustained.  Additionally, the Manager of Operational Excellence will have oversight of multiple activities related to performance improvement including the integration of Lean methodology through A3 projects, 5S projects, Lean Daily Management, performance boards, Gemba walks, standard work development, staff coaching, and management tools development. The role also supports the development of a culture of continuous learning, reliability, and engagement by reinforcing consistent improvement behaviors and supporting leaders in applying improvement principles within daily work.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required.  MBA preferred.  2 years of Lean experience required.  Facilitation experience preferred.  Demonstrated involvement in process improvement activities within role as healthcare leader.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Lean/Six Sigma certification desired.  Just Culture certification or equivalent desired.
