Job description

Wilkes University invites applicants for a Business Consultant in the Small Business Development Center. The Wilkes University Small Business Development Center began in 1980. The program is funded by grants through the Small Business Administration, The Department of Community and Economic Development and Wilkes University. The SBDC provides no-cost consulting to start-up and existing small businesses in a five county area.
The successful candidate is responsible for consulting with existing and aspiring small business owners in all substantive areas of business and to assist clients in determining feasibility, securing necessary registrations and licenses and the development of a business plan and financial projections. The successful candidate will assist clients in identifying sources of funding and will assist in the development of loan packaging, financial analysis and proposal information to generate needed funding for client's business activities.. The candidate will work primarily at at the Wilkes SBDC offices located on the Wilkes University campus and will visit assigned outreach locations on a regular basis.
A Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field is required. A Master's degree in business or related field is preferred. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish), have 3-5 years prior experience and will have experience in creating and understanding basic financial documents. Financial and or banking experience preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
