Job description

ASSISTANT CONTROLLER


Direct-hire role south of Pittsburgh.

Workplace Type: On-Site


Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoicing, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including P&L analysis
  • Manage accounting for business and property taxes, as well as work-in-progress (WIP)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for annual financial statement and 401(k) audits
  • Enforce strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Provide analytical support and cash management guidance to executive leadership
  • Partner with operational leaders to deliver financial insights and support decision-making
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team to drive efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate closely with senior finance leadership on reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA and/or MBA in Finance strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience across public accounting and private industry
  • Demonstrated experience in an environment with inventory complexity
  • Experience with treasury, cash management, and cash flow analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and impact business performance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and support complex operational and transactional environments
  • Strong Excel skills and demonstrated experience working within an accounting ERP system
