Job description

The Lead Analyst, Balance Sheet Management will provide reporting and decision support, complex financial analysis around balance sheet management strategy and objectives.

1)      Produce and develop reporting on interest rate risk, liquidity, investments, derivatives and balance sheet management analysis for the Asset Liability Management Team and board ALCO review. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated. (30%).

2)      Develop complex ad hoc analyses and financial models to support financial decisions, in investments, funding, pricing, and asset liability management. Leverage analytical expertise, understanding of data sources, and knowledge of business performance and strategies to help support growth, drive and monitor results, and eliminate or mitigate potential risks (30%).

3)      Translates ALM and other modeling results into meaningful balance sheet strategies through what-if scenario analysis. Supports modeling assumption development for all models and other modeling or forecasting responsibilities as needs arise. (20%)

4)      Administer, maintain, and refine internal funds transfer pricing system (10%)

5)      Special projects and other duties as assigned (10%)


Required Skills

1)      Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field is required; Master’s Degree (e.g MBA in finance or equivalent), or CFA preferred.

2)      At least 10 years’ experience in financial institution asset liability management, treasury, or financial analysis.

3)      Exceptional communication skills with ability to simplify complex analytical concepts/recommendations across multiple organizational levels including board level, senior executive team, business unit management teams, outside vendor partners or regulatory/audit personnel.

4)      Proven experience creating robust, repeatable, and proven analysis from both existing data as well as integration of new sources.

5)      Experience in SQL and skilled in querying, reporting, and data visualization tools. Ability to understand complex data, their relationships and define solutions. Extraordinarily proficient in us of Excel or other analytical tools.
