We are currently seeking a Senior Director, FP&A and Business Partnership to lead the planning, forecasting and performance analysis functions, while serving as a strategic business partner to Operations, Sales and senior leadership. This role will transform financial and operational data into actionable insights and recommendations to drive profitability and overall business performance.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this senior leadership position offers a unique opportunity to build and structure the FP&A function, optimize processes and develop a talented team within a rapidly evolving manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Lead the budgeting, financial forecasting and long-term planning processes.
  • Establish rigor in monthly budget and forecast updates, ensuring reliable and defensible assumptions.
  • Structure the S&OP process with Sales and Operations to align forecasts with the order backlog and production plans.
  • Build scenarios, analyses and business cases to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate corporate reporting with key stakeholders.
Costing, Margins and Profitability
  • Develop analyses to understand and improve margins and profitability by product, customer, market and plant.
  • Understand and challenge manufacturing costs with Operations, including labor, materials, productivity, efficiency, scrap, overtime and overhead.
  • Lead the monthly margin review process and make margin performance visible and actionable.
  • Assess the margin impact of volume and contract decisions and support profitable pricing strategies with Sales.
Business Partnership — Operations and Sales
  • Maintain a strong presence with operational teams and on the production floor to understand business realities and their financial impact.
  • Assess customer, product, project and commercial decision profitability in partnership with Sales.
  • Challenge assumptions and provide data-driven recommendations to identify profitability, productivity and cost-structure levers.
  • Review pricing and margins on new contracts and ensure effective management of price lists.
Performance, Controls and Proactivity
  • Proactively identify and flag margin, cost and working capital variances before they become critical.
  • Monitor key financial and operational KPIs and contribute to a culture of performance and accountability.
  • Translate variances into concrete action plans and follow up to ensure a return to expected performance levels.
  • Ensure the integrity of information and KPIs reported through company dashboards.
Leadership, Team and Growth
  • Lead, structure, coach and engage the FP&A team, with concrete development plans and high analytical standards.
  • Strengthen the FP&A team's partnership with business and operational teams.
  • Contribute to growth and M&A initiatives, including synergy analysis, due diligence and financial integration.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA or MBA is an asset.
  • 15+ years of experience in FP&A, operational finance or manufacturing finance, including a minimum of 6–8 years in a leadership role (Director level or above) with experience managing managers.
  • Proven experience building or transforming an FP&A function, including implementing budgeting, forecasting, S&OP and performance review processes.
  • Significant experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of production-floor operations.
  • Experience in a privately or institutionally owned environment, including reporting to a Board, lenders or financial partners.
  • M&A experience, including synergies, due diligence and integration, is a strong asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English (Canada, U.S. and U.K. markets).
  • Strong expertise in costing, margins, profitability and operational performance indicators.
  • Proficiency with SAP and analytical tools such as SAC and Power BI.
