Job description

One Seat Open on Our Burnsville Mazda Service Team
This is a single opening, not a stack of them. We're hiring one Service Advisor for our Burnsville Mazda store, which means this hire gets real attention: a real onboarding, a real training investment, and a team that has room to bring one person up the right way.
We're open on background. You might have written repair orders for years. You might be coming from another OEM and already know the rhythm of a service drive. Or you might have never set foot in a dealership but know how to take care of customers when it counts. Any of those can be the right person for this seat.
Who We're Looking For
You don't need dealership experience. Some of our strongest advisors came from restaurants, retail, hospitality, call centers, and the trades. Places where you learn to read a person quickly, stay calm when things go sideways, and follow through on what you promised. If you've written repair orders before, even better, you'll move faster. But we will teach the technical side to the right person.
What we can't teach is showing up. If you want to learn, want to grow, and want to be the reason a customer comes back, you're who we're looking for.
Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged. Our customers speak Spanish, Hmong, Somali, and more, and an advisor who can meet a guest in their own language changes that guest's entire day. It isn't required, but if you have it, we want it on this team.
The Opportunity
  • Average earnings: $70,000, with potential to earn up to $115,000 or more based on incentives
  • Drive a new Mazda: up to $250 per month reimbursed on a new Mazda lease through our employee lease program
  • Paid training: two focused weeks, fully paid, before you're on your own in the drive
  • The store: Walser Burnsville Mazda on Buck Hill Road, serving Burnsville, Apple Valley, Eagan, Lakeville, Savage, Prior Lake, and Bloomington
  • The product: Mazda is Consumer Reports' safest new-car brand and holds more 2026 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ awards than any other brand. Easy to stand behind.
  • The team: one opening on an established, factory-trained service team. You'll be brought up by people who have the time to do it right, not dropped in alone.
  • Growth: we promote from within. Advisors here move into service management, fixed ops, and leadership.

What You'll Do
  • Be the face of Walser service by greeting customers as they pull into the drive and setting the tone for the whole visit
  • Perform vehicle walk-arounds, record mileage and VIN, move vehicles to technician bays, and write up repair orders
  • Learn how long each service takes and what it costs, so you can set clear, honest expectations up front
  • Serve as the liaison between technicians and customers, translating the shop's work into language a guest actually understands
  • Work as a team with your service admin and technicians to generate hours and deliver an excellent guest experience
  • Prospect and sell dealership services, coordinate work in progress, and prepare for after-service delivery
  • Follow up with customers to build repeat business and earn the next visit
  • Stage vehicles and shuttle customers as needed
  • Use TruVideo, Mazda Digital Service, and our estimate tools to show customers exactly what their vehicle needs
  • Support guests through Mazda-specific programs: Certified Pre-Owned service standards, Mazda Tire Center, recall work, and Walser Collision and Glass referrals
  • Uphold Walser's Core Values: Do The Right Thing, Lead By Example, Display Positive Energy, Be Open Minded

What You Bring
  • A drive to learn. Automotive experience is welcome, but curiosity and coachability matter more.
  • Comfort working with urgency without losing your composure
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Genuine care for the customer experience and pride in the visit you create
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Beginner to intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • A plus, not a requirement: bilingual fluency, prior service advisor or OEM experience, Mazda product knowledge, and Tekion, Reynolds and Reynolds, or other Dealer Management System experience

What's In It For You
  • New Mazda Payment Reimbursement: up to $250 per month toward a new Mazda lease/retail monthly payment, so the car you recommend all day can be the one you drive home
  • Paid Training: two-week paid program built to prepare you before you're on your own
  • Health Benefits: medical, dental, and vision through Blue Cross Blue Shield, plus HSA and FSA access and company-paid life insurance
  • 401(k), Paid Time Off, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Fertility and Adoption Assistance: up to $10,000
  • Paid Clothing Program: curated branded Walser apparel twice a year, on us
  • Employee Discounts, referral bonuses, Employee Resource Groups, and Walser Foundation community involvement

A Note on the Work
This is a service drive. You'll be on your feet, safety eyewear and slip-resistant hard-toed footwear are required in the shop, and some days move fast. If that sounds like your kind of day, apply.
If you want to be the person a customer asks for by name, we want to hear from you.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Walser Automotive Group is an EOE/Veterans/Disabled/LGBTQ+ employer.
