Job Description
This leadership role provides strategic and operational oversight for the Facilities Project Services department within Facilities & Support Services, with responsibility for leading facility planning, renovation, and construction project delivery. Ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Provides leadership and direction for construction and project management teams, guiding projects through planning, design, construction, and closeout while supporting the organization's facility and infrastructure needs.
Responsible for ensuring assigned work units are providing services at a professional level. Provides leadership and direction to supervisors and staff within Facilities & Support Services to ensure operations and strategic goals are met. Provides overall guidance and direction to ensure consistency of facilities standards, policies, procedures, and processes, as well as collaboration at the regional and enterprise level.
Promotes teamwork, high ethical standards, quality, safety, and customer service. Responsible for managing talent, staff development, knowledge, finances, and performance of the unit. Develops metrics to validate performance and fiscal responsibility of assigned work units.
May provide leadership in:
• Supporting the Practice with all space and facility construction needs. Provides leadership and project management in capital planning and complex project process. Ensures construction projects meet all regulatory compliance, Minnesota/Wisconsin Department of Health, and local Building and Fire Authorities requirements. Must be able to manage and organize large workload for timely completion of projects through the programming, approval, design, construction, occupancy and project close out phases.
• Implementing and ensuring division operations are conducted to provide regulatory compliance, meeting Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, Minnesota/Wisconsin Department of Health, and local Building and Fire Authorities requirements.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree and seven years of relevant experience. Two years supervisory experience in maintaining building infrastructure systems, project management, customer service and/or personnel management. The specific experience requirements, code knowledge and building system familiarity are dependent upon the assigned responsibilities of the work unit. Additional degrees, certificates, course work and/or experience in relevant fields are desired. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. The ability to work collaboratively with other work units is highly desirable. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and personnel interaction skills are desired. Must possess effective verbal and written communications skills. Must be efficient with all Microsoft Office products and/or AutoCAD. Must be able to manage and organize a large workload for timely completion of projects through the programming, approval, design, construction, occupancy and project close out phases.
Project Services Unit: Engineer or Architecture Licensure (PE or RA), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or Certified Healthcare Constructor-ASHE is desired.
Facilities Operation Unit: CHFM (Certified Health Care Facility Manager-ASHE) or CEM (Certified Energy Manager-AEE) or achieve within 3 years or FMA (Facilities Management Administrator-BOMI) designation/equivalent or achieve within 2 years.
