What this job involves:
This role centers on keeping critical building systems running smoothly through proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and system optimization. You'll work hands-on with HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, and building automation controls, using your technical expertise to diagnose issues, prevent equipment failures, and ensure operational continuity. You'll be responsible for responding to maintenance requests, conducting routine inspections, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining detailed records while ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and building codes. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and building automation controls according to scheduled maintenance plans while identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues using appropriate tools, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques, prioritizing issues based on safety and operational impact
  • Conduct routine inspections of building systems, safety equipment, and structural components to identify potential problems before they escalate into costly repairs or safety hazards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment records using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track trends and support data-driven decision making
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, installations, and major maintenance projects, ensuring quality standards and cost-effectiveness

Required qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or related technical field
  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general mechanical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated capacity to diagnose complex system issues
  • Valid driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, climb ladders, work in confined spaces and various weather conditions, and participate in after-hours emergency response and on-call rotation schedule as required


Preferred qualifications:

  • Technical school certification in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related field
  • EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling or HVAC technician certification
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems such as MAXIMO, Tririga, Corrigo, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of fire safety systems, security systems, and emergency generators
