Position Summary
Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking a Business System Analyst to support our Strategic Sales organization. This role is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, testing new systems and enhancements, and serving as the subject matter expert for technologies and applications supporting the Wholesale Sales organization.
The Business System Analyst partners closely with Information Technology and cross-functional business teams to ensure technology solutions align with business objectives and deliver measurable value. This individual serves as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements while driving process improvements and supporting strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
  • Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements from sales stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed business requirements documentation to support system development and enhancements.
  • Translate business needs into functional requirements and user stories.
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Systems Testing & Implementation
  • Test new systems, applications, features, and enhancements prior to deployment.
  • Validate that business and technical requirements have been met.
  • Identify, document, and escalate system issues and defects.
  • Support user acceptance testing and implementation activities.

Sales Technology Support
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned sales technologies and applications.
  • Provide guidance, troubleshooting, and support to users across the Wholesale Sales organization.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with training and adoption of new technologies and system capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with IT teams to align on project priorities and development efforts.
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Operations, and Technical teams.
  • Collaborate across departments to gather information, resolve issues, and improve business processes.
  • Support strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting & Analysis
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and data analysis in support of leadership.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within systems and business processes.
  • Develop recommendations that improve efficiency, user experience, and business outcomes.
  • Support management with special projects and business initiatives.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.

Experience
  • Experience in business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Experience testing software applications and validating system requirements preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
