Job DescriptionThe Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for a diverse patient population in a level 1 trauma center. The role encompasses various surgical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma. The facility is equipped with two Davinci robots utilized across multiple services and operates a transplant program involving livers, kidneys, and hearts.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care and support in the operating room setting.
- Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.
- Monitor patient vitals during procedures and respond to any changes.
- Maintain sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols.
- Active RN License (NY state license ONLY).
- Two (2) years of experience in a level 1 trauma operating room preferred.
- Ability to scrub and circulate is essential.
- BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
- ACLS certification is preferred.
- Telemetry experience is highly desired.
