What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a maui developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Maui developer, you need strong proficiency in C# programming, experience with .NET MAUI frameworks, and a solid understanding of cross-platform mobile and desktop application development. Familiarity with development environments like Visual Studio, Git for version control, and knowledge of XAML for UI design are typically required. Job description

Primary Function:
Our Morrisville, NC location is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to strengthen in-house ownership of FloLogic's cloud, web, and mobile platforms. This hands-on individual contributor role is centered on C#/.NET and Azure, with opportunities to expand into the broader technologies used across our stack.
This position will work closely with a small internal engineering team and our Europe-based development partners, contributing to architecture, roadmap planning, code reviews, and platform quality and security. You'll also own and enhance internal tools, bringing a pragmatic approach to modernizing systems, navigating large codebases, and implementing testing where it delivers the most value.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build on the .NET / Azure core - design, build, and maintain C# services and applications on Azure, including IoT-driven backends and APIs.
  • Own and advance internal tools - take ownership of internal web applications, add
  • automated test coverage, improve reliability, and extend features our support and engineering teams rely on.
  • Collaborate with our Europe-based development partners - review pull requests, designs, and deployments; partner on architecture and roadmap; and help maintain a high bar for code quality, testability, and security across the platform.
  • Grow across the stack - ramp into our web (Blazor) and cross-platform app (.NET MAUI) work, and our observability/monitoring tooling, as the role develops.
  • Connect software to the device ecosystem - understand how device telemetry, cloud-to-device commands, and over-the-air updates flow, and collaborate with the firmware team where behavior must align.
  • Raise the engineering bar pragmatically - improve CI/CD, testing, dependency hygiene, and release practices where it meaningfully reduces risk.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Senior-level experience (typically 8+ years) in professional software engineering, with deep, recent work in C# / .NET.
  • Strong experience building and operating applications on Microsoft Azure.
  • A pragmatic commitment to automated testing - unit and integration testing, mocking, and CI gating, applied where it adds real value.
  • Proven ability to own and evolve large, inherited codebases, not just greenfield work.
  • Solid grounding in relational data and ORMs (e.g. Entity Framework Core / SQL).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - you'll review work and collaborate with an external development team and represent FloLogic's technical interests
  • We care most about depth in C# / .NET on Azure and the judgment that comes with senior experience. The specific frameworks below are things you can ramp into; don't self-select out if you're strong on the fundamentals but haven't used every tool in our stack.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience collaborating with distributed or partner development teams (joint code review, shared architecture decisions, maintaining quality standards together).
  • IoT / connected-device experience: device telemetry, command-and-control, and over-the-air updates.
  • Modern .NET web development with Blazor (or comparable, e.g. ASP.NET Core / React/Angular SPA).
  • Cross-platform app development with .NET MAUI / Xamarin (or comparable mobile/desktop experience).
  • CI/CD ownership and release/deployment management on Azure.
  • Real-time web (e.g. SignalR), API security (OAuth2/JWT), and observability/monitoring (e.g. Grafana, Application Insights).
  • Security knowledge for connected platforms (device-to-cloud trust, secrets, secure update).
  • Background in regulated, safety-relevant, or high-reliability consumer products.

Why Join Us
  • Opportunity to shape and scale the operational backbone of a rapidly growing business.
  • Collaborative, innovative team culture with real impact on company success.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
