Job description

RockNCalm is developing a patented cable-suspended, magnetically propelled swaying bed for the sleep wellness and sensory therapy markets. We're a small, early-stage team building our first production units and setting up our assembly area from scratch. This is a hands-on, build-it-yourself role.

What you'll do:

  • Fabricate metal frame components using welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or laser welding, primarily for prototype and small batch builds
  • Help design and build out our assembly area layout, fixtures, and workflow as we scale from prototypes to production
  • Collaborate closely with our mechanical engineer on design-for-manufacturing feedback during the prototyping phase
  • Build wood components, including the mattress platform assembly, headboard/footboard sub-assemblies, and other structural elements
  • Maintain accurate records of parts, revisions, and build notes (we're a young company — documentation habits matter)

What we're looking for:

  • Welding experience. MIG, TIG, and/or laser welding, with metal frame or structural fabrication
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings/CAD files
  • Self-starter mentality. This is a startup with no existing assembly line, so you'll be helping build the process, not just following one
  • Comfort with basic wood fabrication (cutting, joinery, finishing) is a plus, not required
  • Nice to have: Laser welding on thin-gauge or precision metal parts, furniture manufacturing, experience setting up assembly/fabrication workstations

What we offer:

  • Ground-floor role at a funded startup with a patented product
  • Direct collaboration with the founding team
  • Health insurance
