About the Role
In this union position, duties of Anchorage Office Clerical include but are not limited to accounting, payroll, customer service, gatehouse, file room, rates department and other office tasks as assigned. Experience in customer service, accounts payable and accounts receivable is highly desired.
Please note that this is a permanent position as defined by the collective bargaining agreement. Permanent employees receive a comprehensive benefit package to include vacation leave, sick leave, and personal leave along with Health and Welfare benefits, pension accrual and twelve paid holidays.
The current rate of pay is $30.77 per hour and will increase based on the collective bargaining agreement.
What you'll do:
  • Must be flexible and adaptable with the ability to learn many different aspects of the operation.
  • Perform customer service functions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Read and follow the outlined SOP for each operational area.
  • Multi-task and perform various functions, with emphasis on attention to detail, as needed throughout the day.
  • Work within a team environment.
  • Be accountable for performance and initiative to ask questions.

You have these skills:
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Previous experience in an office position.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience in customer service is preferred.

And these qualifications:
  • Valid Alaska driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card.
  • Maintain membership in the Union.

You meet these physical requirements:
  • Lifting up to 10 pounds on your own.
  • Sitting for up to 50 minutes per hour.
  • Standing for up to 30 minutes per hour.
  • Walking for up to 20 minutes per hour.
