JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Sr. Project Manager serves as the point of contact for all external generating and wholesale entities seeking transmission interconnection services. This position is additionally responsible for managing the transmission relationship of Entergy’s largest interconnection customers at both the retail and wholesale levels including reliability planning and ongoing maintenance coordination. This position develops and maintains various transmission agreements (e.g. LBA, MDMA, WDS, GIA, Revenue Sharing, System-to-System Interconnections) with wholesale and neighboring systems to ensure that Transmission Services are delivered in a safe and reliable manner.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • For Nuclear Power Plant Customers: Engage customers and establish routine multi-tier engagement processes for plant/grid and executive levels to understand service needs and discuss common issues. Support the development of transmission maintenance plans that meet customer service expectations. Support metrics to track service expectations. Develop routine review of all operating events impacting nuclear facilities and produce root cause, common cause, and corrective action plans where necessary.
  • For Designated Industrial Customers and Other Special Accounts: Work cross functionally within Entergy and Transmission, develop strategic plans that serve industrial, nuclear, and other specially designated customers. Ensure customers’ expectations are understood and that maintenance and service levels align with customer needs. Advocate on behalf of customers within Transmission to ensure appropriate programs are in place and monitored. Support and execute customer engagement strategies with Entergy’s largest transmission customers. Develop specific customer vulnerability and action plans to ensure key account industrial reliability is met.
  • Develop and maintain key customer agreements including Transmission interconnection agreements, Meter Data Management agreements, Local Balancing Area agreement, Generation Interconnection agreement, Facility Construction agreements, Facility Service agreements and Wholesale Distributions Service agreements.
  • Lead the administration and interpretation of interconnection policies and procedures relative to specific Interconnection agreements. Provide support in regulatory proceedings on matters related to transmission service/interconnections.
  • Provide leadership for the coordination and administration of future reimbursements for transmission facilities for customers such as Cooperative Energy, AECC, Arkansas Cities, CLECO, MDEA, MEAM, AEP, etc. Supports MISO Tariff-related activities applicable to the Entergy Operating Companies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the utility industry.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Transmission and MISO tariffs.
    • Experience in project management, engineering or construction.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in developing and reviewing contracts.
  • Strong communicator both at tactical and strategic levels with experience discussing complex topics in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to execute projects in a matrix organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with customers at their CEO and General Manager level down to their operating personnel.
  • Solid knowledge of Entergy transmission standards and practices.

Any Certificates, Licenses, etc.:

  • Preferred: PMP Certification.
