Run the stitching room. Sequence work across the largest team in the plant and roughly nine distinct machine operations so that every upper reaches Lasting complete, in size order, and on schedule.

Essential functions

  • Train new fitters and certify them before they run production unsupervised.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • Ten or more years in a footwear stitching room, hands-on capable on at least four machine types.
  • Able to set up and troubleshoot industrial sewing machines without calling maintenance for routine adjustments.
  • Able to run a skill matrix and schedule around absence.

This position works on the production floor. Standing and walking for most of the shift. Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds. Repetitive use of hands. Hearing and eye protection required in designated areas. Steel-toe footwear required on the production floor. Reasonable accommodation is available to qualified individuals with disabilities.

How performance is measured

Uppers completed per shift against schedule. First-pass quality on stitching. Whether any station in the department is left with only one person who can run it.
