Job description

Fall 2026 - IEF - Lab Test Simulation Eng - Collegiate Associate Intern  in  GAC Savannah

Unique Skills:

Your Future Takes Flight at Gulfstream

At Gulfstream, a proud division of General Dynamics, Collegiate Associates apply classroom learning to real-world challenges and gain valuable experience. You'll work alongside skilled professionals in a culture built on integrity, pride, and excellence-preparing you for future success in the aerospace industry.

Our corporate headquarters in Savannah, Georgia provides the ideal setting for your associate experience by combining professional opportunity with the charm of a historic coastal city.

What You'll Experience

  • Exposure to innovative practices
  • Opportunities to build skills and professional connections

About the Position

Join the team for a Fall 2026 internship! The Lab Test organization at Gulfstream designs, builds, and operates 15 state-of-the-art HardwareintheLoop (HWIL) engineering simulation labs. These labs support internal Gulfstream engineers who specialize in aircraft subsystems such as brakes, engines, and flight controls. Engineers use these labs to test and validate their systems before they are deployed on an actual aircraft.

Each lab is a full representation of a Gulfstream aircraft, allowing engineers to "fly" the system in a simulated environment. The labs integrate real aircraft controllers with a simulation platform running highfidelity subsystem models. Our team develops these models using MathWorks tools such as Simulink and MATLAB, then deploys them on realtime simulation platforms (ADI, Speedgoat, NI) that interface directly with aircraft system controllers (e.g., FCS, brakes, engines).

The team also uses scripting in Python in order to facilitate the testing of aircraft interfaces, create utilities that support the lab operations, as well as create tools for our own group's usage.  You may be asked to work on a Simulink model, Python script, the real time simulation platform, or work on integration tasks between the simulation platform, simulation models and the aircraft controllers.
