Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Cut and trim meat, poultry and fish to size for display or as ordered by customer using hand tools and power equipment. Operate grinder, meat slicer, cubing machine, and power saw. Clean and cut fish and poultry. Shape, lace, and tie meats cuts by hand, using boning knife, skewer, and twine to form roasts. Place meat in containers to be wrapped by other workers. Place meat on trays in display counter. Clean work area. Unload meat from delivery truck and store meat into refrigerator. Wrap and weigh meat for customers and collect money for sales. Operate sausage stuffer or smokehouse equipment. Work in refrigerate area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Use hands, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate power equipment
  • Work in a standing position for 7 hours a day.
  • Use basic math to measure and estimate material quantities.
  • Cut and trim meat, poultry and fish to size.
