Job description

The Government Assembly Operator assembles products in accordance with work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. This role performs assembly operations, verifies product conformance, packages finished goods, and maintains a safe, organized work environment while meeting safety, quality, and production objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret work orders, assembly instructions, drawings, specifications, and part lists.
  • Assemble components and finished products in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Complete First Article Inspections as required by quality procedures.
  • Properly package completed assemblies in accordance with customer or contractual requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures, work instructions, and production guidelines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in training or cross-functional activities as assigned.
  • Identify and report nonconforming products or suspect material to Quality or Production Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision within the scope of training and capability.
  • Has the authority to stop their portion of work if a safety, quality or compliance issue is identified.

Skill Requirements:
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

Experience Requirement:
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment preferred.
