How much do mathematica jobs pay per year?
What is a Mathematica job?
A Mathematica job typically involves using Wolfram Mathematica, a computational software system, for tasks such as data analysis, mathematical modeling, algorithm development, and visualization. Professionals in this field may work in academia, research, finance, engineering, or software development. They use Mathematica’s symbolic computation, numerical analysis, and programming capabilities to solve complex problems efficiently.
What are some typical daily tasks and responsibilities for professionals working as Mathematica?
Professionals in Mathematica roles often spend their days analyzing complex data sets, developing mathematical models, and interpreting results to solve real-world problems. They may collaborate with scientists, engineers, or business teams to design experiments, validate models, and present findings. Routine tasks can include coding, running simulations, preparing technical reports, and participating in team meetings to discuss project progress. This role is highly collaborative and often requires explaining technical concepts to non-specialist colleagues.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Mathematica position, and why are they important?
To excel as a Mathematica, you need strong analytical and quantitative skills, typically backed by a degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Familiarity with mathematical modeling software, statistical programming languages (such as R or Python), and advanced spreadsheet tools is usually required. Effective communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills help distinguish top performers in this field. These abilities are critical for interpreting complex data, providing actionable insights, and contributing to data-driven decision-making in various industries.

Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.
Raytheon's Hardware Electrical Engineering Team is looking for experienced engineers who have electronics knowledge to support the design and test of electronic products and systems. Our bread and butter are all things “circuit cards”, and we want you to help us blaze the path!
We're growing fast and we want you to grow with us! We're expanding our engineering organization dramatically to meet exciting customer demand, and we're actively looking for engineers who bring strong foundational skills and a passion for solving hard problems. Industry experience in defense? Not required — we'll invest in you. If you meet the minimum qualifications, we want to talk. Apply today and take the next step in your engineering career.
What You Will Do
Raytheon's Effector Analog & Power (EAP) Team is looking for junior engineers to help design Telemetry and Flight Termination Systems.
The EAP Department is responsible for the development, from concept to integration, of Telemetry and Flight Termination products; power systems from all up round to the lowest level power regulation; servo electronics supporting all mechanical motion in our products and low noise mixed signal electronics that provides the analog to digital interface to our front-end sensors. Each of these products generally operate in lower power and voltage ranges less than 10kW and 1000V.
The Telemetry and Flight Termination Systems team develops system designs focused on supporting effector flight tests. We adhere to rigorous standards from the Range Commanders Council, Federal Communications Commission, and the National Security Agency in the design and utilization of our products. We perform make/buy trade studies, design application specific Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, and work with leading industry suppliers of antennas, transmitters, encoders, and flight termination components.
- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document analog and mixed signal electronics circuitry.
- Assist in designing electronics at the subsystem or PCB level.
- Help to see PCB development through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing.
- Be the “Responsible Engineering Authority” (REA) for FTS and/or TM designs.
- Generate and/or compile all required analysis and documentation verifying compliance with program and performance requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience OR an advanced STEM degree.
- Experience with Electronics design with emphasis on systems and/or subsystems.
- Experience utilizing and/or creating electrical design specifications.
- Experience with analog electronics design, including one or more of the following: FETs/BJTs, op-amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, comparator circuits, A/D converters, level shifters, and load switches.
- Experience using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica, or other similar tools.
Qualifications We Prefer
- An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
- A self-starter, a quick learner, be able to function in a dynamic environment, and have good time management skills.
- Experience communicating and documenting technical topics at the small team level.
- Experience with Flight Termination and/or Telemetry systems design.
- Experience with electronics laboratory testing and troubleshooting.
- Professional experience with the ECAD process and have a conceptual understanding of the layout and routing concerns specific to RF circuit cards.
- Experience in any one of the following:
- Designing using microcontrollers, FPGA’s, and digital interfaces
- System grounding schemes and resolving ground reference issues
- Developing requirements and test plans
