Pathways In Education is a small, non-profit charter school in Nampa dedicated to serving the local community and supporting at-risk and underserved students. Pathways considers the unique needs of every student, allowing access to small group classes, guided independent study, online courses, and experiential learning, to address each student's individual strengths and needs.

PIE places great emphasis on the student-teacher relationship, a critical component to the development of students' personal, emotional, and academic well-being.
Pathways In Education is looking for a Math Tutor to work at their Nampa location with set hours (Mon -- Thurs, 8am -- 4pm, with a 1 hour lunch), 28 hours / week
Our Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Provide open tutoring as scheduled both in the math room and in the main room of the center
  • Clearly post and market availability of tutoring along with schedule
  • Maintain a consistent schedule as arranged with their supervisor and provide support to the teachers as needed
  • Create a tracking system that indicates student appointment times, progress and area of improvement
  • Communicate with Math SGI teachers to support students in class who are struggling
  • Call students who do not show up to tutoring appointments and follow up with them on their progress
  • During open times, work to create step-by-step solution manuals for the center
  • Keep the work area neat and clean
  • Instruct students in Math within a small classroom environment and/or 1-on-1 situation
  • Communicate with teachers, advising them on the conduct and performance of their students while they are participating in any classroom instruction
  • Meet with students to discuss areas of development
  • Counsel students in subject area concerns
  • Monitor student performance within the areas of class work, attendance and discipline as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Proficient math knowledge through Algebra II and Geometry
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with teachers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team player with colleagues and administrators
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment, in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle daily classroom instruction.
  • Ability to share life experiences with students in relation to the class content.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, support and encourage at-risk students coming from a variety of educational, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide an example of strong self-esteem, confidence and leadership.

Education and Experience:
