About This Role

Think Academy's Middle School Math Competition team is looking for a part-time, remote teaching assistant to provide in-class and after-class assistance to our AMC10 students. Teaching assistants will guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic potential and develop profound problem solving skills.

Your responsibilities as a Math Teaching Assistant include:

  • Keeping the class proceeding in an orderly fashion, answering any questions students might have, communicating to parents about any absences, and generally making the environment conducive to students' study.
  • Reminding students to submit homework, grade homework, guide students to office hours, and help answer questions students or parents might have.
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback on student assignments and performances to promote continuous improvement.
  • Helping to maintain our WeCom parent group throughout the semester.
  • Recording video explanations for homework problems.
  • Editing textbooks and other learning materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field. Advanced degrees such as Master's, or experience in AMC10 competition are highly preferred.
  • Fluent in both English and Chinese to communicate with team members and parents.
  • Passionate about education, willing to help students achieve their potential.
  • Responsible and responsive to facilitate remote work.
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.

  • Teaching Fee: $30/hour
  • Non-Teaching Fee: $16-20/hour; Includes class preparation and after-class services such as grading homework, replying to parent messages, periodically giving feedback, etc.
  • Commission: 15% Target Performance Bonus
