Position Summary
The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC.
The Catamount School Math Teacher Leader is an EHRA Non-Faculty position with instructional duties. The successful candidate will teach math to sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students, and may also serve as instructor for curriculum and middle grades education courses in the School of Teaching and Learning at WCU. They will also supervise interns in middle grades education. Expertise and experience in mathematics teaching is expected.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America without the need for employer sponsorship or any other immigration-related assistance.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and must be eligible for a North Carolina teaching license in middle grades math. Candidates who are not already in procession of a North Carolina teaching license in middle grades math must obtain and provide evidence of licensure eligibility on or before August 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who earned a graduate degree in elementary or middle grades education, mathematics, math education, and/or National Board Certification.
Preference will also be given to candidates with experience teaching 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in public schools.
Applicants should provide evidence of experiences or the potential to work collaboratively and across disciplines, co-teach with EC teacher leaders, understand project-based learning and standards-based grading, and successfully collaborate with in-service teachers in public school settings. Interest and experience in teaching in technology rich and flexible environments is a plus.
The candidate will be expected to teach and supervise interns and will share program responsibilities and provide service. Consistent participation in all aspects of The Catamount School is expected.
