EDAโ€™s signature Earth Observation mission, the EarthDaily Constellation (EDC), is currently under construction. EDC will be the most powerful global change detection and change monitoring system ever developed, capable of generating unprecedented predictive analytics and insights. It will combine with the EarthPipeline data processing system to provide unprecedented, scientific-grade data of the world every day, positioning EDA to meet the growing needs of diverse industries.
OUR TEAMย 
Our global, enterprise-wide team represents a variety of business lines and is made up of business development, sales, marketing and support professionals, data scientists, software engineers, project managers and finance, HR, and IT professionals. Our Data & Platform team is nimble and collaborative, and in preparation for launching a frontier and disruptive product in EDC, we are currently looking forย aย Sr. Software Engineerย to join our crew!ย This is a Vancouver-based hybrid position with 3-days per week in-office required.
PREPARE FOR IMPACT!
As aย Senior Software Engineer,ย you will have overall responsibility for defining, evaluating, prototyping, designing, implementing, testing, documenting, evolving, deploying, maintaining and applying DevOps practices to backend systems (APIs, Databases, Infrastructure) used to support the development and operations of the Ground Segment that supports EarthDaily's EO Sensors (present and future), Value-Added Products and internal systems/services used by active stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, design, implement, test, debug, deploy and evolve transactional data management systems, services and software/infrastructure capabilities
  • Conduct and participate in technical and interface discussions, design reviews, code reviews and feature verifications with other team members.
  • Monitor, triage and fix bugs in services with active stakeholders.
  • Participate in sprint planning, sprint closure, sprint demos, and sprint retrospectives
  • Drive the design and implementation of new system requirements, system level architecture.
  • Participate in Product and Business Development discussions to advise on and influence the Product Roadmap
  • Mentor and train fellow software engineers on software development best practices
  • Ensure technical documentation for solution designs is created and maintained
  • Recommend new technologies/patterns to ensure solution scalability, maintainability, and quality
YOUR PAST MISSIONS
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering or equivalent
  • Masterโ€™s or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent an asset
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering with proven track record of delivering API driven transactional based system for mission critical projects
  • Experience developing and debugging complex distributed software deployed within a cloud-based environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience integrating foundational models into production business workflows in cloud environments
  • Experience working within an Agile software development framework and SCRUM processes
  • Experience in large scale database and API design and implementation
  • Experience in full stack development
  • Experience practicing DevOps and CICD
  • Experience in leading technological advancement of existing capabilities
  • Experience in leading, mentoring and growing fellow software engineers

YOUR COMPENSATION
Base Salary Range: $145,000-$170,000 CAD annually. This range is based on Vancouver, BC-derived compensation for this role and may differ for other geographies. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, education, and location.
