Job Summary

Candidate will be involved in research and development activities related to Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and Digital Twins. This includes working closely with IT architects, Product teams, IT Infrastructure Operations, and Cyber Intelligence and Security teams to evaluate new tools and technologies, develop proof of value (POV) solutions, and implement solutions within Dominion Energy's private cloud environment. Under general supervision, assists in writing and maintaining simple applications and performs limited systems design. Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains programs to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities: 

  • Development and implementation of Proof-of-Value (POV) solutions with emerging technologies in a sandbox environment to solve business problems.
  • Evaluate commercial solutions from a functional, technical, and risk standpoint.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate emerging tech solutions into existing systems and workflows.
  • Collaborate with architects and systems analysts to code, test, and deploy modular and scalable solutions.
  • Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of emerging tech solutions by following coding best practices and performing thorough testing and validation.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and continuously seek opportunities to enable new capabilities with AI and emerging technologies within the organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

  • 1-2 years of experience in programming and systems analysis.
  • 1-2 years of experience with IoT implementations.
  • 1-2 years of experience with implementing AR/VR solutions.
  • 6+ months of experience in the Energy sector is preferred.
  • Experience in working with databases.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Python and SQL are preferred.
  • Ability to develop applications using Microsoft Power Platform is preferred.
  • Good understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • Understanding of IT security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain technical proficiency via self or formal training.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.

Must possess a bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: Business, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Mathematics.

Expected Hiring Base Salary Range:

$81,900 - $106,400
