Job description

Role: Quality Engineer 

Location: Princeton, Illinois

Duration: 6+ month

The manager is primarily needing the most help with supporting machining and inspection of machined parts

Position Summary

We are looking for a Quality Engineer that is a strong problem solver, dedicated to completing assigned job tasks on time, comfortable with developing suppliers, implementing quality system improvements, providing customers timely feedback, able to communicate effectively to cross functional teams and upper management, and will represent LCN in a professional manner. This position is onsite five days weekly.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

  • Lead problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns using statistical tools.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Rapid Improvement Events, Six Sigma, lean methodology, etc.
  • Develop and provide training to build quality awareness.
  • Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
  • Interface with Suppliers, Engineering, and Operations to provide feedback and data for products and processes.
  • Lead and support the Quality Technicians to ensure that our products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing audit strategies for processes, products, and systems.
  • Responsible for issuing, tracking, and verifying root cause solutions of corrective actions.
  • Assist in vendor surveillance of purchased materials, finished parts, and processes.
  • Determine inspection and test equipment required to evaluate product quality and reliability.
  • Lead and manage projects to improve cost and quality of manufacturing processes, products, and purchased components.

Experience And Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field.
  • 3+ years quality and engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment with supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification preferred.
  • Sound engineering and leadership skills.
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Strong organization and attention to detail skills along with the ability to hand multiple projects at once.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to build strong and sustainable relationships.
  • Skilled in team building and experience in effectively working with cross functional teams.
  • Understanding of applicable computer systems such as Microsoft Office and function specific software.
