Overview
Within CEAI, our Data Engineering and AI team leverages Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, advanced analytics, and AI technologies to design, build, and manage scalable enterprise data solutions. We deliver trusted, high-quality data products, platforms, and insights that empower teams across Microsoft to make data-driven decisions, optimize business processes, improve operational efficiency, and drive strategic outcomes through modern data, analytics, and AI capabilities.
We are looking for a Data Engineer that is interested in helping our organization empower learners through producing valuable data that can be used to understand the needs of the organization to make the right decisions.
Responsibilities
  • Data Management and Transformation
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and backend services for real-time decisioning, reporting, data collecting, and related functions.
  • Produce well-tested, and secure code.
  • Develop and maintain software designed to improve data governance and security.
  • Develop processes designed to ensure Data Security and Data Quality.
  • Work collaboratively with teammates in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work to help build an inclusive working environment.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling, or data engineering OR equivalent experience.
Other Qualifications
Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferrerd Qualifications
  • 3+ years building and maintaining end-to-end data systems and supporting services.
  • 3+ years Incorporating data processing and workflow management tools into pipeline design.
  • 3+ years' experience in ETL/ELT, Data warehousing, and/ or Business Intelligence Development.
  • 3+ years using SQL to understand data and to investigate data issues or problems and provide solutions.
  • 2+ years working with cloud data technologies.
  • 2+ years' experience with:
    • Python / PySpark / Scala
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • MS Fabric
  • Experience with AI tools.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts.
  • Design, implementation and testing skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and software development habits.
  • Experience understanding data and data exploration using querying languages such as SQL.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience producing high quality Data products.
  • Experience work with No-SQL storage and databases such as Azure Storage/ Data Lakes/ Or Cosmos DB.
  • Experience with creating, editing and administering PowerBI data Models.
  • Experience developing for continuous integration and automated deployments.
  • 1+ years software development using languages like JavaScript, Java, or C#.

Data Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
