POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the General Manager of ASG, the System Sales Engineer assumes responsibility for working with production, purchasing, value-add support team and project manager. The System Sales Engineer researches, plans, designs, develops, and conducts tests on mechanical assemblies and/or systems.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE

· Directly reports to the General Manager of ASG.

· This position is non-supervisory.

· Work and communicate professionally with all staff, customers, and vendors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Work with Sales Account Managers and Product Managers for field sales support.

· Lead Solutions progress from initial project review to final shipment.

· Create territory dashboards and goals in accordance to Solutions groups goals.

· Generate project scopes and quotes as needed.

· Participate in territory sales meetings to promote Solutions products and services.

· Gain proficiency in knowledge of products represented by Neff.

· Interact with customers to develop project scope.

· Assist in developing and implementing new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs to capture key demographics.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be engaged with customers and the sales group. The employee will also be in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This position requires approximately 25% travel to customer locations; therefore, the incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in climate-controlled settings, but may be exposed to wet and/or humid hot and/or cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, ear protection is provided when needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Engineering degree (BSME, BSMET, MSME) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school in engineering, manufacturing and/or quality assurance or related field.

· At least 5 years related sales experience specifically in machine design/build and complex mechanical systems.

· Experience selling, implementing or integrating robotics, vision, and motion control.

· Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· Ability to update and maintain CRM with sales data, projections/forecasts, customer data, etc.

· Assembly of systems when required.

· Proficient using solid modeling software (SolidWorks), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and product information in English.

· Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

· Ability to complete mathematical equations to determine quantity, price, discounts, etc.

· Evaluate and understand business data and metrics as required.

REASONING ABILITY

· The interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate policies, procedures, and practices to managers/supervisors and employees.

· Analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Electrical aptitude and technical ability to engineer solutions and assist with the design of systems to meet customer needs.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· The analytical and creative ability to contribute to the development and evaluation of branch standards, goals, and objectives to prepare reports and interpret policies, procedures, and practices.

· Excellent organizational skills needed to develop strategic (problem) solutions and coordinate project work and develop and prepare documentation/reports.

· Computer literacy required.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear. The employee is required to use hands to touch, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
