Mercury is seeking a highly motivated Principal Systems Engineer to develop the next generation of Mercury's industry-leading rugged, secure processing solutions. In this role, you'll be part of a Systems Engineering team primarily working within our Processing Technology business unit designing, integrating, verifying, and delivering rugged, secure, embedded products. You'll have the opportunity to shape technology across multiple lines of business and multiple product lines. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative and robust protections against reverse engineering, unauthorized access, and exploitation.

You'll be working in a matrix organization as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team while collaborating with Line of Business Chief Engineers, systems engineering, program management, business development, operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in an environment of an integrated mindset, unconstrained thinking, and being empowered to make decisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Science degree or higher in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline.
  • Typically requires 6+ years experience in Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in system engineering principles, including requirements development and management, system design, and verification/validation.
  • Experience in System Security Engineering (SSE) principles, reverse engineering & embedded security.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and/or testing of real-time embedded security solutions targeted for Department of Defense (DoD) platforms.
  • Experience in generating Anti-Tamper technologies, techniques, and principles, including hardware/software protections, secure boot, and encryption.
  • Experience with Cyber Security, and/or Key Management plans.
  • Experience in vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and risk analysis to identify potential attack vectors and mitigation strategies.
  • U.S. citizen with an active U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline.
  • Familiarity with Security State of the Art FPGAs and Intel CPUs.
  • Candidate must exhibit a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, stakeholders and customers in a team environment
  • Familiarity in design, integration, test, and fielding of secure systems.
  • Familiarity VPX and/or rack mount server hardware.
  • Experience with Cameo Enterprise Architect or equivalent MBSE tools.
  • Experience with Jama, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket.
  • Ability to travel, up to 15% of the time (location dependent).

* $87,100.00 - $182,900.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in FL, GA, IN, AZ, AL, MD or TX, and all remote employees
* $97,600.00 - $204,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in VA, CA, NH or MA
* $102,800.00 - $215,800.00 annual salary for in-office or hybrid employees in NJ Additional Information
